The Confederacy of Scum Supershow
live at the Boston Saloon, Las Vegas, Nevada (October 3 & 4, 2003)

(REVIEW BY CURTIS PAYNE)

I just saw such an amazing line-up of bands over the weekend in Las Vegas---some of whom happen to be on TKO (but this is beside the point). And I just have to spread the love. The Confederacy of Scum Supershow in Las Vegas, Nevada was an experience one rarely has in these days of overhyped bazulzashit and bandwagon leaping: a collection of TRUE legends getting together to---without fanfare and hype---play for each other and a few initiates. Like a meeting of wandering outlaws, these originators often imitated never duplicated rode into town, hitched their wagons up, and strode into the Boston Saloon to doff their hats at each other and proceed to lay down the rock.

I saw Jim Goad of Answer Me! fame quietly crooning Merle Haggard while accompanied by Travis from Hammerlock on acoustic guitar, Jeff Clayton from ANTiSEEN singing Alice Cooper with Jeff Dahl and his new band backing him up, the newly reformed Jabbers with Wimpy from the Queers singing (putting GG well in his grave with one of the strongest sets of the whole weekend), Cocknoose and Hammerlock showing just how much shame there is in Nashville Pussy's fake-ass redneck game (seriously making Nashville Pussy look like a bunch of fucking Hollywood types in trucker caps), and Sammytown from Fang's new band the Resistoleros whipping-ass like some demented evangelists. Not to mention some bad-ass tough guy shit from Limecell, The Tunnel Rats, and Rancid Vat. Check these bands out for your own good so you can get some true quality punkrockandroll into your soul to battle the ever rising tide of bullshit and fashion.
